The itinerary had now been finalized for our meeting this week!  Please take a look at the document available at this link.  We have decided to not use Guidebook as in past meetings due to a pricing change by them. 

This meeting is full of interesting and diverse presentations and side activities, and our host committee has been hard at work to ensure that everyone has a great experience.  Safe travels and we'll see you Thursday!

In the coming days, the S.A.T. election for officers will take place via regular mail. In addition to the slate of board members, there are two proposed amendments to the S.A.T. constitution to be aware of.

With sadness I am relaying the news of the passing of Dr. Robert Schoenfeld last month, at his retirement home in Vancouver WA.  Bob was an instrumental figure in the foundation of S.A.T., and he served as treasurer for over 10 years.  It is largely through his leadership that S.A.T. is in the successful financial position that it is today.  Many of us in the organization who had the pleasure to know Bob and work with him will never forget his warm smile and good nature.  A card and note of sympathy was sent to Bob's widow on behalf of the membership.

The Spring 2018 Planning Committing is expecting a whirlwind of scientific presentations to make the spring meeting of the Southwestern Association of Toxicologists scientific program successful. On May 17-19, 2018, the Hilton Garden Inn in Bricktown (Oklahoma City, OK) will be ground zero for learning about topics such as new analytical procedures, cutting-edge research in forensic toxicology, or interesting cases that will assist with difficult data interpretations.

The Spring 2018 Planning Committee has begun building the clouds into a swirling super cell of fun and learning. The deadline for submission is April 17, 2018.

The Fall 2017 S.A.T. meeting is now accepting abstracts for presentation at the meeting. Please email your abstract to Veronica Hargrove at vhargrove@bexar.org.  The deadline for submission will be October 3.

In addition, the ABFT exam will be offered at the meeting for candidates that have or will have already completed the application process and are in their window to take the exam. The time of the exam is from 1 PM to 5 PM, Thursday, November 2.

The Fall 2017 S.A.T. meeting will be hosted by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office in San Antonio.
